2022 Summer Festival Scrapbook

Kevin Krentz wrote in his yearly letter:

This year’s program features many shorter works by modern composers. I think you will like them! I have felt for many years that composers and musicians spend too much time trying to impress other composers and musicians while the larger public that we serve is consistently telling us that we are not meeting their needs. Only 3 of the US public is regularly involved in experiencing the performing arts.

I feel that the works and composers I have chosen are all doing their best to find that delicate balance between heart and head while regularly creating moments of real transcendence. And isn’t that what we are all here for, artists and audience?
