“A Warm Winter Evening”
The Methow Valley Chamber Music Festival is pleased to present “A Warm Winter Evening”, an evening of rich traditional chamber music, on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 6:30 PM at the Merc Playhouse in Twisp. Tickets: $45.
Internationally-acclaimed violinist Helen Kim, pianist Paige Malloy and cellist Kevin Krentz will join together in a piano trio for an evening of wonderful music.
The program will feature the exciting and virtuosic Piano Trio in B-flat major, Op. 11, "Gassenhauer" by Beethoven, Swing Shift for Piano TrioMvmts. 3, 2, 5, 6 by Bunch and Piano Trio in G minor, Op. 15 by Smetana.
Helen Kim Bio
Helen Kim enjoys a multi-faceted career that has her regularly performing across the Americas, Europe and Asia.
Since her concerto debut at the age of 8, she has given performances at the Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, BBC Proms, Suntory Hall and Disney Hall, among others. In recent seasons, Kim has made concerto appearances with orchestras such as the St. Louis Symphony, Reno Chamber Orchestra, Aspen Festival Orchestra and the Colorado Music Festival Orchestra. Kim has collaborated with a number of conductors, including Nicholas McGegan, Peter Oundjian and Jun Märkl.
She has performed works for solo violin on San Francisco Symphony’s Soundbox series and on the Pulitzer Arts Foundation's contemporary music series. Most recently, Kim was the Associate Principal Second Violin of the San Francisco Symphony from 2016 to 2022 before joining the Seattle Symphony as the Clowes Family Associate Concertmaster.
