For the second straight year, the Methow Valley Chamber Music Festival’s home at Signal Hill Ranch has been threatened by wildfire. The Twisp River fire forced the evacuation of the Ranch for four days (August 19-22). Owners Howard and Liz Johnson returned to find the ranch untouched by the fire, with only a bright red strip of fire retardant surrounding the property as a reminder of how close the fire came.

“Thanks to everyone who called, emailed and texted messages of concern and support,” said Liz Johnson. “The Festival site is safe, intact and resting peacefully until next summer.”

Here's how dire things looked last year, during the 2014 Carlton Complex Fire.
